Dog urine is one of the most common — and most overlooked — causes of outdoor AC unit damage. The uric acid in urine corrodes the aluminum fins on your condenser coil over time. Once those fins break down, your system works harder, runs less efficiently, and eventually fails.

We pulled this photo from a recent service call in Roanoke. The homeowner had no idea this was happening.

💦 Simple fix: rinse your unit with a garden hose weekly during warm months. And if your dog has claimed it as their spot, a small fence or barrier goes a long way.
