XCEED Engineering We are a professional engineering firm specializing in modification design, engineering analysis, an Established in 2014.

Rochester New York engineer company specializing in consultation/design, Finite Element Analysis(FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) & pipe stress. XCEED Engineering was started in 2014 by two engineers in the nuclear industry. Since then, we've grown and provided services for many industries. Before we started the company, we were working as engineers at a nuclear power plant. We led dozens o

f projects, always focused on ensuring the health and safety of the public. But the projects also needed to be efficient. With the price of electricity so low, there wasn't a lot of money available to waste on unnecessary stuff. This is where we honed our skills, only doing what was necessary, and cutting out things that just didn't need to be done. As Engineers, the founders of XCEED were chosen to lead engineering for the Fukushima FLEX project. The average spend on this was expected to be around $50M per nuclear plant. We worked with project management and site management to help reduce the cost of the project by about $8.8M.

Foundations look like the simple part of a project right up until the loads are not what the drawing assumed. Equipment weight is only the beginning: there is dynamic load, thermal growth, anchor bolt pullout, soil bearing, and whatever the existing structure is already carrying. On industrial projects, structural engineering services cover more ground than most schedules assume: framing and load paths, connection design, equipment foundations and pads, platforms and access steel, anchorage into existing structures, and the calculations that back all of it. So we show up. Tape measure, laser, hard hat, and we capture what is actually there: real dimensions, real conditions, real constraints. Existing structures are never quite like the drawings, and the gap between as-drawn and as-built is exactly where problems hide. An hour on site saves a week of rework later.

Analysis starts with the actual part in your hand, not a drawing someone hopes is current.

We measure it, understand how it is loaded and how it is really used, then build the model around that reality. A fl**ge, a bracket, a custom manifold: the geometry on the bench is the ground truth. Skip that step and you are analyzing a part that does not exist.

Four signs your nozzle loads need a closer look: piping that connects to rotating equipment, hot lines tied into vessels, supports added or removed since the original design, and recurring seal or bearing failures with no obvious cause. That is why every analysis at XCEED gets a second set of eyes before it leaves the room. Loads, boundary conditions, mesh, and results all get reviewed by another engineer who did not build the model. It is slower. It is also how you catch the assumption that would have cost a client a failed part.

Replacing a pressure vessel is one of the most expensive calls a plant can make. Sometimes it is also the wrong one.

Pressure vessel analysis verifies remaining capacity against ASME rules, accounting for wall thinning, nozzle loads, and operating conditions. Often the vessel is still fit for service, and you keep it running with documentation to prove it. When it is not, you find out before an unplanned outage does.
