Cardenas Lab Cardenas Lab is a fun research group working to transform how people do science and technology using nanoscale optical devices.

Cardenas Lab is part of The Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester. We aim to revolutionize science and technology using tiny photonic devices that fit on the tip of a needle. To achieve our goal, we go where our research takes us. Sometimes this involves inventing novel devices or using new materials; while at other times, we need to use traditional techniques in ways never thought of

before. Our work intersects many fields such as optics, physics, engineering, material science, biology, and chemistry. This page will keep you up to date with what goes on in our group.

Yuhan Mei’s latest work on Weak Value Amplification just came out on Optics Letters. Yuhan tested the practical limits of weak value amplification and demonstrated a record 30dB of amplification with a net SNR enhancement of 23dB. Congratulations Yuhan!
