Cardenas Lab is part of The Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester. We aim to revolutionize science and technology using tiny photonic devices that fit on the tip of a needle. To achieve our goal, we go where our research takes us. Sometimes this involves inventing novel devices or using new materials; while at other times, we need to use traditional techniques in ways never thought of before. Our work intersects many fields such as optics, physics, engineering, material science, biology, and chemistry. This page will keep you up to date with what goes on in our group.
