S.U.R. Construction, Inc. is in search of immediate hire for Staff Accountant to join a small, tight knit office with a family atmosphere at a well-established Heavy Civil Construction Company.

Strong organizational, multi-tasking and excellent communication skills are needed for success in this position which has potential for growth. Willingness to be flexible and support other business needs of the company. The ideal applicant will be a problem solver, self-starter and team player with a positive can-do attitude. The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and works with minimal direction. Candidate must pay attention to detail and accuracy in all areas and will be primarily responsible for:

Accounts Payables; Coding, verifying and entering invoices. Performing weekly check runs.
Account Receivable; Processing invoices and requisitions for payment.
Payroll; Reviewing and editing submitted timecards. Process weekly payroll.
Equipment job costing; Reviewing and editing. Processed with weekly payroll.
Human Resources; Some functions include working with safety, new hires, health and life insurance.
General office support duties.
Qualifications of the Staff Accountant
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
Construction accounting/job costing experience a plus.
Payroll experience with minimum 1 year.
Strong Excel skills
Knowledge of Foundation software preferred but will train
