Michigan weather doesn't follow a schedule, and this week's heatwave across SW Michigan is proof. Summer's supposed to be winding down, but your AC probably didn't get the memo

Your AC turning on doesn't mean it's actually doing its job.

If your house still feels sticky and humid even with the AC running, that's your system telling you something's off. Rooms that never quite cool down, some spots colder than others, or an electric bill that jumped for no reason, these are all signs it's struggling to keep up.

We found THIS wrapped around a heating duct... 😳

This duct was exposed near the ceiling and wrapped in loose fiberglass insulation instead of a proper insulation sleeve. Fiberglass itself isn't a fire hazard, but when it's just loosely wrapped like this, it can shift, sag, and leave gaps over time.

Those gaps mean heat loss, higher energy bills, and in some cases hot spots against nearby framing or drywall that the material wasn't designed to handle.

Since the ceiling height was low anyway, we're raising the duct up and wrapping it properly with a real insulation sleeve. It seals correctly, stays in place, and actually does the job it's supposed to do.

That green line you see running across the ceiling and floor isn't just for show. It's a laser level, and it's one of the most important tools in our HVAC installs.

When we're running new ductwork or setting an air handler, everything needs to line up level and true. A laser gives us a fixed reference point across the whole room, so we're not eyeballing angles or guessing where a duct run should sit. It saves time, but more importantly, it prevents small errors that turn into big problems later, like airflow issues, sagging ducts, or units that aren't sitting level.

You never see this part, but it happens on every single call.

Before a truck ever pulls into your driveway, someone in our Rockford office is already scheduling the visit, checking the details, and matching the job to the right tech. Then that tech is loading parts and tools onto the truck based on your specific job, not just grabbing whatever's closest.

This is where your sink will go. Right now it's just framing, drain pipe, and supply lines, but every inch was measured and placed with this exact spot in mind. That outline isn't guesswork, it lines up perfectly with the plumbing that's already in the wall. Phase two of Travis's basement is coming together. We ran in-floor radiant heat under the whole space, so once it's finished this floor stays warm from the ground up. Bedroom, bathroom, and a spot for guests to stay the night, all built the right way from the studs out. West Michigan homes, done right.
