What’s holding you back from going solar?

Understanding how the system works is important information for a home owner.

At Devlin Energy we use the best of the best and tailor the system to your exact specifications to ensure your happiness and the best possible production on your home.

Micro inverters and string inverters are 2 types of inverters used in solar power systems.

Wiring: Micro inverters are attached to each solar panel and convert DC power to AC power within each panel. String inverters, on the other hand, attach to a string of solar panels and convert DC power to AC power for the entire string.

Monitoring: Micro inverters offer individual panel-level monitoring, which allows users to track the performance of each panel in real time. String inverters, on the other hand, offer monitoring of the entire solar array.

Maintenance: Micro inverters are easier to maintain and replace since they are installed with each panel. String inverters require more maintenance since they are typically installed in a central location and can potentially fail over time.

Performance: Micro inverters optimize the energy output of each panel, which can result in higher overall system performance. String inverters may produce less energy when one panel in the string is shaded or malfunctioning.

Cost: Micro inverters are typically more expensive than string inverters due to the additional hardware required for each panel. However, they may be more cost-effective in situations where shading or varying panel quality is a concern.
