On a multi-building campus, the cleaning problem is rarely the cleaning. It's the coordination.

Four buildings, four supervisors, four escalation paths. A request raised in Building C on Monday reaches someone in Building A by Thursday, if it reaches anyone.

We run campuses differently. One account lead owns the entire property, with dedicated teams in each building, on-site supervision, and a single escalation path back to one person who knows every space you manage.

Most cleaning companies say they run quality inspections. Very few show you the results. 🤔

Here's what visibility looks like on our accounts.

Inspections happen on a defined schedule, not when someone remembers. Each one is scored against the written scope for that building, area by area. Findings are logged with photos and a timestamp. Corrections are tracked to closure, and an open item stays open until it's verified fixed.

You see the same report we see.

A company's values show up in what it does when no one is holding it to a contract. 🤔

We think a facility services company carries two obligations. One is to the buildings we're hired to care for. The other is to the communities those buildings sit in.

So our leadership serves. Chambers of commerce, a college foundation, and organizations working on education, economic development, and community need. That work doesn't show up on an invoice, and it isn't meant to.

Sustainability is the same principle applied indoors. Green cleaning practices, responsible product selection, and processes built to reduce waste rather than generate it.

Nightly janitorial keeps the daily surfaces maintained. Deep cleaning resets a space that's fallen behind. Periodic cleaning is the layer in between, and it's the one that gets overlooked most often.

Vents, blinds, baseboards, high dusting, light fixtures. The tasks that don't need attention every night but will show if they're skipped for months. We schedule those on a defined rotating cadence, built into the program from the start.

One of the quiet costs of inconsistent cleaning vendors is staff turnover you never see coming. New faces, retraining on your facility's specifics, and a dip in quality while someone new gets up to speed.

A crew can clean a building. A crew with dedicated on-site supervision can also catch a problem before it becomes a complaint.

Large accounts are staffed with an embedded supervisor who oversees the site, enforces the standard in real time, and handles issues as they come up rather than routing everything back through a call center or a rotating point of contact.

It's a different operational model than the route-based approach most cleaning companies default to, and it's a big part of why response time on our accounts stays fast.

Higher education campuses bring a different mix of spaces under one cleaning program: classrooms, dining halls, athletic facilities, administrative buildings, and common areas that see very different traffic patterns depending on the day and the semester.

A program built for one type of space doesn't automatically work for the others. It takes coordination across the whole campus, not a single standard applied without regard for what each building actually is.

Facility managers in education and institutional settings often reference APPA's cleanliness rating scale when they talk about service standards. Here's what one of those levels actually looks like day to day. 🤓

APPA Level 2, Ordinary Tidiness, is a common benchmark: floors and surfaces consistently clean, no buildup in corners or edges, trash handled promptly, and an overall appearance that reads as well maintained on a walkthrough, not just spot-checked before a visit.

Hitting that standard consistently isn't about one good day. It's what a documented, repeatable process is built to deliver every time.

Progressive Cleaning was proud to sponsor and field a foursome at the Junior Achievement of Central Florida & the Space Coast Annual Golf Classic at Viera East Golf Club. Year after year, this is an event we look forward to. Great people and a cause worth showing up for.

This year's was the first on the Space Coast since Junior Achievement of the Space Coast consolidated with Junior Achievement of Central Florida. Our CEO, Moses Harvin II, who sits on the Junior Achievement of Central Florida and the Space Coast board and chairs its Space Coast Advisory Board, opened the morning with that news:

"Partnering with JA Central Florida has dramatically expanded what we can put in front of a Brevard student — programming that used to be a stretch for us is on the table now, and we're bringing it to the Space Coast in a bigger way than we ever have."

Congratulations to the Junior Achievement team on another well-run event. The organization and effort behind a day like this do not go unnoticed.
