Neurons must navigate a delicate balance between stress response and regeneration after axonal injury; however, the mechanisms that toggle between these behaviors are poorly understood. In this study, Psomagen customers identified the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) as a key regulator of this stress-growth switch.

Psomagen provided RNA sequencing for this study on RNA extracted from sciatic dorsal root ganglions (DRGs). This is just one of the great breakthroughs coming out of our NGS transcriptomics lab — you can read the full paper below: https://bit.ly/4xd2hvt

If you’re ready to test an Olink workflow, we can help! Psomagen is one of the only labs in the world that accepts and runs partial plates, meaning you can try out the technology at the scale that works for your project and budget. Partials are a good choice to:

- Pilot the technology to ensure it fits your needs
- Test dilutions before running all your precious samples
- Confirm your sample matrix is compatible with Olink’s PEA technology

Curious about how longitudinal imaging paired with single-cell sequencing data can change the game? In this study, researchers used the Cellanome R3200 to isolate and treat A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells with Olmutinib. They were imaged longitudinally for 32 hours, then underwent single-cell sequencing.

This dual approach identified four unique phenotypes and fifteen unique pathways involved in EGFR resistance. These insights were made possible by the combination of technologies — these results couldn’t be achieved with one methodology alone. Have you struggled with merging single-cell sequencing data with imaging? The Cellanome R3200 provides a solution to:

- Difficulty matching imaging data with single-cell sequencing results
- Inability to identify active or quiescent cells without extensive bioinformatics
- Limited ability to pinpoint resistant cell populations and the transcripts driving them
- Challenges linking differentiated cell states to their corresponding transcriptomic profiles
- Transcriptomic hits that don't validate functionally
- Marker proxies that don't capture the full functional phenotype you're interested in

New to FFPE or FF samples, or even to tissue in general? Tissue storage methods lead to tons of extra considerations — and if you plan before you run, your next spatial biology project will be set up for success. Take a look at our latest blog post for details on what to plan for based on your samples, what instruments might be compatible with your project, and what to look for in a well-planned spatial biology workflow: https://bit.ly/3Pq4v9T
