Soon, Jonesboro residents won't have to travel far for access to a premier sports and recreation facility.

Crafton Tull's architecture team, in conjunction with Grace Design Studios, designed the First Community Bank Sportsplex, a multi-use recreational facility that's currently under construction. The facility is expected to generate $42.8 million in combined annual economic impact over the next 30 years.

Mark Owings in our architecture division recently wrote an article for Arkansas Business detailing the impact the facility will have on the community. Read the full article here: https://buff.ly/Rs2BFDT

Protecting natural spaces starts with getting outside and taking a closer look. 🌿👣 That’s exactly what the Crafton Tull Environmental Team has been doing throughout Rogers assessing wetlands, streams, forests, and other natural areas as part of the City's ex*****on of a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant. From evaluating stream health and erosion to identifying invasive species, documenting native plant communities, and locating sensitive features like springs, caves, and wetlands, our team built a detailed picture of the landscape.

The information collected throughout this process will help guide future restoration efforts, giving the City the information and tools it needs to improve water quality, restore habitats, and make informed decisions about protecting these natural resources for future generations.

In this video, bridge engineer Levi Gottsponer walks us through six unique bridge projects designed by Crafton Tull in Poinsett County, south of Jonesboro. The projects are in Seismic Zone 4, so there's potential for high-magnitude earthquakes there. The projects were designed to *bridge* the gap in necessary infrastructure while remaining sturdy during earthquakes.

Thanks to Arkansas Department of Transportation for trusting our team with these projects.

As west Little Rock continues to grow, so does the need to improve traffic infrastructure. Crafton Tull partnered with Traffic Engineering Consultants to provide traffic analyses, engineering design, and construction plans for improvements to the Kanis Road and Cooper Orbit Road intersection. The redesigned intersection meets current roadway standards while enhancing traffic operations, improving pedestrian accessibility, and upgrading stormwater infrastructure.

The project included lane widening, new curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveways, an underground storm sewer system, modern traffic signal equipment, pavement markings, and a retaining wall with handrail. These improvements have created a safer, more efficient intersection that will better serve motorists, pedestrians, and the surrounding community.

Our Transportation team, together with the Arkansas Department of Transportation and Duit Construction Company, was honored to win an Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award for a 2.8 mile overlay project we designed on Highways 64, 253, and 271 South of I-540 in Fort Smith. The project was only ARDOT’s second bonded concrete overlay. While most overlay projects are asphalt, this project used a bonded concrete overlay design to form a single composite pavement structure built for a 20-year service life. This $6.8 million project was delivered under budget by Duit on a fixed completion date with zero full closures, maintaining traffic flow and access to driveways and multiple businesses throughout construction.

Thank you to the Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter ACPA. Congratulations to our great project partners, Arkansas Department of Transportation and Duit Holdings, Inc..

The new school year started today at Hot Springs World Class High School and the campus has continued its transformation throughout the summer! 🏫✨

The Crafton Tull team provided the site design for the district's new three-story, 150,000+ square-foot high school, which welcomed students for the 2025–2026 school year. The design intentionally aims to maximize the existing campus, while the new facility provides a modern learning environment.

The second phase of improvements included a new gym that doubles as a safe room, a synthetic turf practice field for football and soccer, new tennis and pickleball courts, and upgraded shot put and discus facilities. These facilities are expected to be in use this year.

We're grateful for our long-standing partnership with the Hot Springs School District and excited to see the full campus come together.

An extra special piece of art now occupies a wall in the lobby of our Rogers office. “The City Grid” is an acrylic on canvas painting created by Alex Roberts, daughter of our own Dave Roberts.

Alex was born with Cerebral Palsy, which confines her to a power wheelchair due to her lack of muscular control. She works with volunteer “trackers” who become the hands of the artist, taking directive from her to create beautiful paintings via basic verbal commands. She selects the canvas size, paint color, and tools (sponges, spatulas, and even potato mashers), then brings a painting from her mind’s eye to reality on the canvas. Alex has been creating modern art at Easter Seals A.R.T. (Artistic Realization Technologies) program since 2011.

Alex will graduate this summer from the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College with an associate degree in Art History. Earlier this year, Alex and her family visited New York City to see world class modern art at museums including MOMA, The Met, Guggenheim, and the Whitney.

The Conway Community and Aquatics Center is making a splash! The facility just received a 2026 Dream Design Award by Aquatics International.

Originally a 112,000-square-foot facility for Acxiom, this adaptive reuse/renovation transformed the building and its site into a lively community center with amenities such as indoor volleyball and pickleball courts, indoor competition and leisure swimming pools, and an extensive outdoor water park. Designed by Crafton Tull in collaboration with Grace Design Studios and Counsilman-Hunsaker, the project also offers multipurpose and community rooms, a fitness gym, café and concessions area, and waterslides!

The facility opened in 2025, and we're excited to see all of the fun the Conway, Arkansas, City of Colleges will have here in the coming years. Read more about the project here: https://buff.ly/G2EYZ9s
