You know, it is cool when you get pictures from a homeowner of the project that you completed for them. The lights are an incredible addition. This is what it is about. These moments may seem small, but at times like this it gives us nice little affirmation of the good we are trying to do.

Thank you Witzke family for allowing us to serve you. It was truly our honor to serve. We hope that all of you get to make some incredible memories together.

Well hello, neighbor. It feels like it has been awhile since we have been able to speak with you all.

That is because we were working hard on a massive project. Whew! it was a good one. What started as simple subfloor tear out grew very fast into a mold remediation. The good news is that the homeowners and us had planned for that. Doesn't make it any better.

We instantly knew that we were going to activate some of the contingencies put in place. From there it turned into a whole home floor gut and replacement. Our mold specialist came and found many different strains of fungus and mold due to no moisture mitigation systems underneath the house. It was so bad the floor joists were disintegrating.

So, what did we do. We started the remediation processes while removing the whole floor and anything that touched it. Then we came in with a multi-phase remediation process. One that was done we installed v***r barriers. Not one, but two sump pumps in basins on opposite sides of the house due to multiple previous home additions. As well, we installed a massive dehumidifier system under the house. Rather safe than sorry. Oh yeah, did I mention we had to go 4ft up the walls per the mold specialist recommendations.

Next we came back with all new joists, subfloor, drywall, primer base coats (per homeowner instruction), flooring, and trim. Oh yeah we also set the tubs, vanities, toilets, cabinets, and countertops. It was a process and really tested us, but that's not bad thing. It was honestly a blessing to be able to give this house new, safe life and hand it back over to the homeowners giving them security that they could, quite literally, breath easy in their house.

We are so grateful and thankful to be able to do what can to serve those in need. It is a tremendous blessing and we don't take that lightly. Lastly, we want to thank everyone who supports us and allows us to serve you. Also, thank you to the guys for working hard and giving it your all.

1940s grain bin → custom outdoor patio

This project was definitely one for the books. This wasn’t a kit or an off-the-shelf setup—we had to build a large portion of it from scratch and figure out how to transform the existing grain bin into a functional, beautiful outdoor space.

Taking something with so much history and giving it an entirely new purpose was such a cool opportunity. We’re incredibly proud of how this one came together, and it was an absolute blast to get to build it!

There’s something pretty special about taking an old structure and turning it into something the family can enjoy for years to come.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: MacKenzie Gage 🌟

This week, we're proud to shine the spotlight on someone who is truly the backbone of our office—Mackenzie Gage.

As our Administrative Coordinator, Mackenzie keeps Cobine Construction & Contracting running behind the scenes. From onboarding new employees and processing payroll to managing paperwork, organizing schedules, and helping keep Dylan on track with appointments, she's the person who makes sure the details don't get overlooked.

Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Mackenzie has played a huge role in helping us implement new systems and processes that have allowed our company to grow and become more organized and efficient. Her dedication, work ethic, and willingness to take on new challenges have made her an invaluable asset to our team.

We're also incredibly proud of everything she's accomplishing outside of work. Mackenzie will graduate from Missouri State University this December before beginning Doctor of Physical Therapy school next spring, taking another exciting step toward her dream career.

And if that wasn't enough to celebrate, she'll also be marrying her high school sweetheart, JJ, this spring! ❤️

Watching Mackenzie grow into the hardworking, compassionate, and driven young woman she is today has been one of our greatest blessings. While she's our oldest daughter, she's also an essential part of our business family, and we couldn't imagine Cobine Construction & Contracting without her.
