We're proud to have contributed to two projects recognized with the 2026 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) Honor Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)!

The honored projects include:
Hyperion Advanced Water Purification Facility in Playa del Rey, CA, helping Los Angeles expand water reuse and reduce demand on potable water supplies.

Portland International Airport Terminal Core Redevelopment Phase One in Portland, OR, a transformative modernization project focused on sustainability, resiliency, and passenger experience.

Romtec Utilities recently designed and supplied a replacement wastewater lift station for the Aliamanu Military Reservation in Honolulu, Hawaii. Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a compact cutter pump wastewater lift station for a growing commercial development in Bear, Delaware. Serving multiple retail and commercial buildings along U.S. Route 40, this value-engineered system was tailored to the site's actual flow requirements, helping reduce costs while meeting New Castle County standards.

Featuring a duplex Tsurumi cutter pump configuration, the lift station pumps up to 60 GPM at 16 feet TDH, providing reliable wastewater conveyance while minimizing maintenance concerns often associated with solids and fibrous materials. The result is an efficient, cost-conscious solution built for long-term performance.

For the Shawnee Fossil Plant in Paducah, Kentucky, Romtec Utilities partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to design, manufacture, and supply a complete industrial wastewater lift station tailored to the facility's operational needs. The system features duplex Goulds submersible pumps, a 23-foot-deep wet well, a precast concrete valve vault, and integrated controls designed for dependable performance in a demanding industrial environment.

With extensive experience serving the power generation industry, Romtec Utilities provided a single-source solution that included system design, engineering, manufacturing, startup assistance, and operator training.

When challenging site conditions demand a unique solution, custom engineering makes all the difference.

For this stormwater lift station project in Eagle River, Alaska, Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a complete system to help mitigate recurring flooding issues caused by freeze-thaw conditions and poor surface drainage. A key feature of the project was a stepped-down wet well design, allowing the station to fit within a tight site footprint while accommodating numerous existing underground utilities. For the IBM Boulder Data Center in Colorado, Romtec Utilities engineered and supplied a replacement wastewater lift station to address failing infrastructure and reduce the need for extended bypass pumping. Working directly with IBM and Fluor, our team delivered a reliable system that met the project's schedule and operational requirements. The new lift station was designed to handle wastewater flows of 270 GPM at 36' TDH, providing long-term reliability for this important facility.

Wilhelm, our team designed and supplied a custom Wash Drains Basin lift station to collect and manage high-temperature engine wash water from the facility's combustion turbine system.
