Most homeowners don’t realize this. Insurance companies don’t just miss things, they rely on you not understanding the process.
This claim was denied at first. The adjuster said there was absolutely no damage.
We went back out for a reinspection and documented everything the right way. We showed the code upgrade requirements, the repairability issues, and why tying into an aging roof system would create more damage. A repair might look cheaper on paper, but it would not hold up and it would not be the right solution for the paying customer.
That is where experience matters. It is not just spotting damage, it is knowing how to present it in a way the insurance company has to recognize.
End result was the claim getting overturned and approved the right way.
If your contractor does not understand the process or speak the insurance language, you are the one left holding the bill.
