Itโs another and this week we are giving a nod to our longtime partners and friends at Chasco Constructors โ a relationship that began in the early days of Lauren Concrete and helped shape who we are today.
Chaz Glace founded Chasco in 1979, fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning his own company. Starting with small concrete jobs throughout Central Texas, Chaz built the business alongside his two sons, Chuck and Tony, teaching them the industry from the ground up.
Just a year after Lauren Concrete was founded, Chuck Glace crossed paths with Ronnie Klatt at an AGC event in 1987 โ the beginning of a friendship and partnership that would span decades.
โAt the time, Ronnie did not have enough trucks to service Chasco, but over the years Ronnie and I became close friends,โ said Chuck Glace, now President of Chasco Constructors.
Chuck recalls watching Ronnie batch and drive during the day, then work on trucks late into the night alongside his brother, Ray โ doing whatever it took to keep the business moving forward.
โAs his company grew, he got to the point where he could service Chasco, and around 1997 we started using Lauren Concrete and we have been partners ever since,โ said Glace.
That partnership marked the beginning of steady sidewalk and residential concrete work for Lauren Concrete, while also laying the foundation for a friendship that would help shape both companies for years to come โ Chasco growing into a full-service general contractor and Lauren Concrete expanding its reach and scope to commercial work. Today, Lauren Concrete and Chasco have partnered together on big projects such as the Texas A&M Health Science Center and Kalahari Resorts Waterpark in Round Rock, and the Q2 Stadium in Austin, home of Austin FC.
โAs Chasco grew, Lauren grew, and itโs been a great partnership between the two of us,โ said Glace.
