A meaningful step toward advancing semiconductor innovation and talent in Palestine.

Orion Semiconductors is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with An-Najah National University, in the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University. The MoU was signed on behalf of Orion by our Founder & CEO, Dr. Nasib Naser.

This partnership will strengthen academic, research, and industry collaboration in chip design and semiconductor technology through curriculum development, applied research projects, technical capacity building, student internships, specialized lectures and workshops, and the exploration of a dedicated semiconductor laboratory. Together, we aim to connect education with industry needs and help transform research outcomes into real-world applications, products, and spin-off ventures.

We look forward to building a strong foundation for the next generation of Palestinian semiconductor professionals and contributing to a knowledge-driven economy. We welcome your thoughts on the role of academia–industry partnerships in shaping the future of advanced technology.

A meaningful dialogue on innovation, digital transformation, and Palestine’s technology future.

Dr. Nasib Naser, Orion’s CEO and Technical Director, had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister of Palestine, and Dr. Abdel Razek Natsheh, Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Economy.

During the meeting, Dr. Nasib provided an update on Orion’s current status, highlighting the company’s progress, capabilities, and ongoing commitment to advancing semiconductor and technology development. He also shared a glimpse into Orion’s future activities, strategic priorities, and vision for contributing to a stronger and more innovative digital economy in Palestine.

This meeting represents an important opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss the evolving technology landscape, and explore ways in which local companies can support national development. At Orion, we believe that collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to fostering innovation, developing local expertise, creating high-value opportunities, and positioning Palestine as an active participant in the global technology ecosystem.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share Orion’s journey and vision with Palestine’s leadership. We look forward to building on this dialogue and contributing to initiatives that support technological progress, digital transformation, and sustainable economic growth.

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Orion Semiconductors represented by our CEO Dr. Nasib Naser and the University of Jordan represented by its president Dr. Nathir Obeidat—a significant step toward advancing semiconductor innovation, research, and talent development in Jordan.

Through this partnership, we will work together to establish a specialized System-on-Chip (SoC) design laboratory at the University of Jordan, support joint intellectual property development, and deliver hands-on training in advanced semiconductor design and verification.

The MoU will also create opportunities for joint research in SoC design, AI and Cybersecurity on a chip, alongside specialized workshops, technical lectures, student internships, and employment pathways within the semiconductor industry in Jordan.

Our CEO & Technical Director, Dr. Nasib Naser, said: “At Orion Semiconductors, we believe that strong collaboration between academia and industry is essential to preparing the next generation of engineers and strengthening Jordan’s semiconductor ecosystem. We are committed to making this partnership a success and to helping develop Jordanian talent capable of contributing to the future of advanced semiconductor technologies”.

We look forward to working closely with the University of Jordan to turn knowledge into practical innovation and create lasting opportunities for students, researchers, and the wider technology sector.

“Isn’t it a mistake for companies to stall growth while chasing experienced engineers, instead of investing in fresh graduates who can deliver faster and cheaper?”

"Many companies think hiring only experienced engineers is the fastest way to scale. Wrong and misleading! Building a team from the ground up is often the smarter long-term investment. Forward looking investment in a team of freshies is the path to early Time-to-Market. For companies to hold their development process waiting to find the right experienced engineer is the wrong approach. Time – continues to be – is money.

Fresh graduates come with strong fundamentals, high adaptability, and no fixed habits. You can train them on your exact design flow, methodology, and culture. They grow with your company, not around it. That creates alignment, loyalty, and consistency across projects.

Experienced engineers are important, but relying only on lateral hiring is costly and harder to standardize. The most successful semiconductor companies build their own talent pipeline, groomed internally or through outsourcing, that’s how sustainable teams are created.

At Orion in Palestine and Jordan, this is exactly what we do. We help our partners build, train, and prepare dedicated design, verification, and physical design teams so they’re ready to deliver from day one, supported by a stable environment and low turnover that ensures continuity and long-term project success."
