Last month, Royal Oak City Commissioner Woody Gontina’s house became one of the first ever Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified homes in Royal Oak and one of only 120 in Michigan. LEED-certified buildings help to reduce carbon emissions, conserve water, reduce energy costs, and improve indoor environmental quality. Oakland County Chief Sustainability Officer Julie Lyons Bricker and I were proud to be a part of this historic moment.

Very similar to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) often used with solar. This is a great way to adopt a much more efficient heating and cooling technology, while mitigating the first cost burden.
