So I'm not really sure what to say about this project except that from the lowest of lowes can come the highest of highs! Abby and Sedge and family unfortunately right before Christmas last year had a fire at their house and totally destroyed the interior and parts of the exterior. I met with them last year and their spirits never got low, just saw the positives it can bring! This is absolutely amazing due to the circumstances!! So i totally felt for the family and promised them i would give them a bigger and better house when i was done with it, and that's what i did! The house had to totally be stripped to bare studs and have evey inch sprayed with a special primer to remove the smoke smell. After that the fun began with an open canvas to make this disaster into a dream home. The ceilings were vaulted with some great architectural features in the family room and a slider was added to the back yard opening up the space with new light. The master suite did not have a bathroom before , but i removed the old back yard door and made the entire room bigger allowing for a small full bath. In the master we also vaulted the ceiling where we could making it feel twice the size, and also visually appealing. So while making the master bigger and moving the door this allowed the kitchen to get a bigger footprint and doubled the size. I also uncovered some old brick and thoight that made a great accent wall behind the stove so I left it exposed. The mud room where you walk in i cleaned it up and put the washer and dryer in a closet and actually shrank the space to enlarge one of the kids bedrooms. The other 2 bedrooms were completely redone and the kids got to pick some fun colors. The hall bath was redone and i had enough space to sneak in a small hall linen closet. The other benefits are the crawl space was encapsulated, and the entire house is super energy efficient with spray foam insulation and all new windows. The biggest "new" for Abby was the house now has central heating and air making her a very happy camper. The house has all new electric, plumbing, and flooring, roof and solar tubes making this basically a brand new house. Thank you for letting me part of this journey with you, and i hope you enjoy it for years to come! I need to thank all my amazing subs and the hard work they put in, and more importantly putting up with me lol!! Chris Jordan Exteriors LLC Mid-Shore Marble & Granite Inc.
