Timberline Buildings Timberline Buildings is Pennsylvania’s premier post-frame building contractor and are family-owned. Design your
Timberline Building today.

Timberline Buildings is an Amish owned and family operated business based in Hegins, PA. Established in 2003 as a general contractor, Timberline offered a wide range of construction services such as decks, roofing, siding, and pole buildings. As the business became established we recognized exciting opportunities for growth in the pole building sector. Pole buildings are a cost-effective storage solution, with savings up to 30% compared to stick-frame construction. What started out as a 3 man crew in 2003 has evolved into one of Pennsylvania's premier post-frame construction companies with over 15 years of experience. We are now a team of 20+ employees all dedicated to post-frame. Our primary service area includes all of Pennsylvania.

Need separate storage spaces without committing to a large commercial building?

📦 Model C-137 | This compact mini storage building fits two independently accessible 12′ × 20′ units into a 24′ × 20′ footprint. Each unit has its own 9′ × 8′ overhead door, making it easier to separate tenants, equipment, inventory, or different types of storage.

A 6′ × 8′ utility room provides additional enclosed space with its own exterior entrance. The hip roof, Scarlet Red wainscot, snow guards, and seamless gutters give the building a more finished appearance than a typical row-style storage structure.

Choosing a roof for a pole building often starts with the shape: gable, gambrel, monitor, hip, or lean-to. But the shape you see is only one part of the decision.

Roof style affects appearance. Roof pitch changes the height and proportions of the building. Truss design determines what can happen underneath, whether that means a flat ceiling, vaulted space, equipment clearance, or properly designed attic storage.

Those choices need to work together and match the way the building will be used. A garage with a vehicle lift, a farm equipment building, and a horse barn may be similar in size but need very different roof systems.

Our new guide explains the options in plain language, including standard, scissor, attic, and storage trusses, along with the questions Pennsylvania property owners should consider before plans are finalized.

You don’t need to know every truss term before you start. You do need to know what you want the building to do.

Read the guide:

Gable, gambrel, monitor, scissor trusses, attic trusses and roof pitch—see how each choice affects the way a Pennsylvania pole building works.

🐄 Model A-315 | 28×60 Agricultural Barn with Partial Lean-To

Sometimes the most useful space on a farm doesn't need to be fully enclosed.

Model A-315 pairs a 28′×60′×18′ agricultural barn with a 12′×60′ partially enclosed lean-to that runs the full length of the building. That gives the main barn its own enclosed footprint while adding a long sheltered area along one side.

Access is a big part of this layout. Two 12′×14′ split sliding doors provide large openings into the main building, while a 10′×8′ wood slider, Dutch door, and separate entry door give you additional ways in and out.

One of the details we especially like on this project is the continuous sidelight above the lean-to. It brings natural light into the tall main building while also creating the stepped roofline that makes this barn easy to recognize from across the property.

Barn Red siding, a Bone White roof, and a cupola with a tractor weathervane finish the traditional farm-barn look.

A closer look at Model A-315:
• 28′×60′×18′ main building
• 12′×60′ partially enclosed lean-to
• Two 12′×14′ split sliding doors
• 10′×8′ wood split sliding door
• 2′ continuous sidelight
• 36″ louvered cupola with tractor weathervane

A concrete floor and a pole barn foundation are not always the same thing.

A post-frame building may be supported by embedded treated columns, precast concrete columns, poured piers, a continuous foundation wall, or an engineered slab system. The right choice depends on more than how much concrete is used.

Soil conditions, drainage, frost, building loads, floor use, and future plans all affect the foundation decision.

Our new guide explains:

Common pole barn foundation types
Post-hole depth and diameter considerations
Foundation versus concrete slab
Pennsylvania soil, frost, and drainage factors
Questions to ask before comparing quotes
