EWMC Greater Sacramento Chapter - Sacramento, CA Always Moving Forward, Forever Lifting Up The EWMC has a long history.

In 1974, African American and Hispanic delegates met during the 30th IBEW International Convention in Kansas City, Missouri and formed the EWMC to address the lack of minority representation and other inequalities within the IBEW. Since that time the EWMC has prospered and grown under the direction of President Robbie Sparks, an IBEW Business Manager from Atlanta, Georgia. The success of the EWMC is essentially due to its strong vision and belief in the abilities of people of color.

The EWMC Rib Cookoff wouldn't be possible without the support of the businesses, contractors, and community partners who continue to step up for our members and our events.

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and raffle prize donors for helping make this year's cookoff one to remember. A quick parking and entry guide for our biggest event of the year! Our EWMC Rib Cookoff will be THIS Saturday June 13th, open to the public starting at 11:00am. Hope you're hungry because there will be FOOD!

Come out for great BBQ, cold drinks, raffle prizes, and a day with Local 340 brothers, sisters, friends, and family.

Parking is available throughout the surrounding area, with entry from both 25th Street and O Street.

The field is set and the grills are getting ready.

First, a quick update—competitor Garrett Wood unfortunately had to withdraw from this year's cookoff. Garrett graciously passed his spot on, and we're excited to welcome Daniel Goodwin into the competition.

Joining Daniel in the pit are Jermaine Galang and Franklin, three more cooks ready to put their skills, recipes, and bragging rights on the line.

Leadership is more than the work we do—it’s how we show up for our communities.

On January 15, 2026, hundreds of Electrical Workers Minority Caucus members powered Seattle during our annual Day of Service. Teaming up with IBEW Local 46, our members took action, gave back, and made an impact.

We wrapped the day celebrating our volunteers before launching into our Opening Plenary Session.

Thank you to every delegate who proved that IBEW leads on the job and in the community. 💪⚡️
