Crew Lead, Journeyman Installers, Apprentice Installers
Duties
1. Crew Leads - Manage and supervise installation crew members to assess job sites and complete projects within scheduled time frame following established policies and procedures.
2. Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar panel systems
3. Assemble and install roof and ground mount solar array racking, including properly sealing all roof penetrations, and installing all related mounting equipment etc.
4. Perform all DC electrical work necessary to connect system to the inverters including proper wire crimping, inverter stringing and installing home runs, low voltage installation, combiner box wiring and wire management.
5. Perform all DC electrical work necessary to connect system to the inverters including proper wire crimping, inverter stringing and installing home runs, low voltage installation, combiner box wiring and wire management.
6. Perform general construction duties including measuring, use of hand tools, roofing, leveling, trenching, concrete and landscaping
7. Read & comprehend building plans for roof & ground mounted arrays to effectively build systems that are mechanically excellent, of the highest workmanship, aesthetically pleasing, and optimally functional
8. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues
9. At all times emphasize the highest level of quality assurance and adherence to safety standards and regulations
10. Ability to assess problems and implement solutions during the construction process.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of previous solar installation experienced required
- High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 Certified, preferred
- Experience installing both roof and ground mount systems
- Experience with solar installation and electrical work
- General construction knowledge including electrical, roofing and carpentry skills.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work variable hours including overtime and occasional overnight travel to job sites
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a physical environment with full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and /or move greater than 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Regularly exposed to high, precarious places; climbing ladders; walking on roofs (both flat and angled); outside weather conditions and vibration; confined locations (i.e. attics and crawl spaces)
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
- Medium to high Noise Level
