These gear housings took a little ride to
❄️-300 degrees and then all the way to 🔥+300 degrees yesterday. This process helps stress relieve the metal before final bore operation. A lot of parts at Earp Machinery get the cryogenic process before final operations.

is a thermal treatment process that greatly improves the metals physical characteristics. It is not a surface treatment: the entire mass is made stronger, more uniform, and more durable.
