🎉 EXCITING NEWS & AWARD SPOTLIGHT! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our Chapman Technical Group projects, the Gatlinburg Trout Facility and Trout Program, has just been honored with the Innovation Award by the Tennessee Municipal League (TML)! 🏆✨

Known as the gateway to the country’s most visited national park, Gatlinburg is the only city in Tennessee, and one of just a handful nationwide, to operate a municipal trout facility of this scale. 🏞️🐟

Here is a look at why this facility is making such massive waves for residents and millions of visitors:

🎣 World-Class Fishing: The facility produces and stocks 40,000–50,000 trout annually into local streams, keeping Gatlinburg a premier fishing destination!
📚 Hands-On Education: It’s not just about fishing! Thousands of students and guests visit every year to learn about fish biology, water quality, and environmental stewardship.
💧 Sustainability: The program ensures the healthy, sustainable management of the beautiful waterways flowing in and out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
📉 Smart Economics: Managing the facility in-house through the Parks and Rec Department saves the city money and gives them total control over fish health and stocking schedules.

Happy 4th of July weekend! 🎆

If you are looking for the perfect way to spend the holiday outdoors, look no further than the Clear Fork Rail Trail down in Whitesville. With its shaded river views, boardwalk bridges, and the incredible multi-tiered waterfall, it is an ideal spot to hike, bike, and unplug for the afternoon.

At Chapman Technical Group, we are incredibly proud to be actively working on Phase 2 of this project. Expanding this scenic route means creating even more opportunities for our community to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of West Virginia.

The Culture Center South Garden at the Capitol Complex, recently redesigned by Chapman Technical Group, received a new addition to their outdoor natural resources exhibit. A 50-ton H.K. Porter fireless locomotive, once used to move coal cars around the Cabin Creek Power Plant, was placed in its new home via crane. The engine is displayed alongside a 20-ton coal shuttle car.

As part of the South Garden renovation, a waterfall was constructed to reflect the many waterfalls found throughout the state.

🌿White Oak Rail Trail! 🚂
Oak Hill, WV

The City of Oak Hill engaged Chapman Technical Group to develop a concept plan for a new trailhead for the White Oak Trail at the historic train depot in Oak Hill. The project represents a critical first step toward creating a vibrant, accessible, and historically sensitive community space that enhances trail connectivity and supports future development. 🌿

The conceptual design will serve as a foundation for future grant applications and construction efforts, including the eventual renovation of the White Oak Depot, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The design will prioritize accessibility, community engagement, and preservation of historic character while activating the trailhead as a welcoming gateway to the White Oak Rail Trail. 🏛️🚂✨

Chapman Technical Group was pleased to design and provide the perforated window vinyls for Ruffner Elementary School in Charleston.

From the inside, the window perfs allow one-way visibility but prohibit people from seeing in from the outside. This provides an enhanced level of security.

The theme of the design reflects their mascot, the Roadrunner, as he runs along the mountain roads of West Virginia.

Thanks to Screen Graphics Inc. for printing and Die Rise Kill, LLC David Bowles and Jamie Selbe for installing the window perfs.
