Recent U.S. outbreaks involving gastrointestinal pathogens such as Cyclospora and Salmonella are bringing renewed attention to the role of reliable diagnostic testing.

For clinical laboratories, quality control is an important part of maintaining confidence in molecular GI testing. External controls can help laboratories monitor assay performance and verify that testing processes are working as expected.

The Microbiologics Gastrointestinal (22 Targets) Control Panel provides broad QC coverage in a convenient format, with 22 GI-associated targets, including Salmonella typhimurium and a Cyclospora cayetanensis surrogate, along with targets for Campylobacter, C. difficile, E. coli, Shigella, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, norovirus, rotavirus and more.

What’s next in diagnostics? That’s exactly what we’re interested in hearing about at this year’s Generation Diagnostics Summit. We’re also looking forward to connecting with others across the diagnostics community and exploring the technologies, challenges, and ideas shaping what comes next.

Will you be attending as well? Connect with Braught and Keller-Novak while you’re there to compare notes, talk through what you’re seeing in the field, or discuss how well-characterized genomic reference materials and custom manufacturing can help address assay development and validation challenges.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, an opportunity to recognize the important role vaccination plays in protecting people and communities from serious infectious diseases. Immunization is one of the most effective tools available for preventing disease across the lifespan. Supporting these efforts requires accurate testing, ongoing surveillance, research, and informed healthcare decisions.

At Microbiologics, we’re proud to support the scientists, laboratorians, researchers, and healthcare professionals whose work helps advance public health around the world.

Did you know more than 10,000 kids in Central Minnesota need support with foundational school supplies? Something as simple as a notebook, backpack or box of pencils can help give a student the tools they need to start the school year ready to learn. Our team recently collected supplies for the United Way of Central Minnesota School Supply Drive, which supports schools and youth programs right here in Central Minnesota. A small contribution can make a meaningful difference for a student in our community. 📒✏️🎒
