Found some more structural damage this week. It was the result of a dryer vent that was pointed up. All that warm moist air was blowing against cold steel siding in the winter causing condensation behind the siding. No moisture barrier behind the siding; let the rotting begin.

We started a new 30’x40’ pole shed. During the planning stages of this build, I discussed with the customer the idea of installing an air to air geothermal system that I heard about five years ago and I’ve always wanted to try. The customer was excited about it so gave us the greenlight. We installed 300 lineal feet of 4 inch PVC pipe 6’ below grade from one corner of the building to the other. After we got done installing the pipe I put a leaf blower on one end and a meat thermometer on the other. Pushing the ambient air through the loops cooled the air from 74° to 63° in one single return. Once completed, the building will benefit for both heating and cooling purposes with minimal energy consumption.

Had an interesting landscaping job we finished up today. Customer had a dead oak tree which we cut into stepping blocks...

Had an interesting landscaping job we finished up today. Customer had a dead oak tree which we cut into stepping blocks and chipped the wood for a walking path. Also brought in the brush cutter to mow down the undergrowth. And per usual, I have no before pictures. Fun little project to create a really nice and peaceful fern/creek oasis.
