Design tips to planning your backyard:

Tip 1: Find a focal point

Tip 2: Determine landscape needs and wants

Tip 3: Ask the right “location” questions. (Eg. What are the sun and wind patterns in my backyard?)

Tip 4: Focus on Scale and pacing. Does your backyard come together or is it fragmented?

Tip 5: Be open to change. Your interest will change over time so think ahead.
