We recently hosted our Koch Methanol St. James Family Fun Day at the Baton Rouge Zoo, and had a blast spending time with our incredible team members and their families.

From face painting and bounce houses to lawn games and friendly animal encounters, the day was filled with big smiles and unforgettable memories. We love being able to bring our work family together to celebrate the communities we live and work in.

We love seeing our community thrive and coming together to support local initiatives. We recently joined our neighbors for the Annual Keep St. James Parish Beautiful Cleanup Day to help pick up litter and take pride in our shared environment.

We also had the honor of celebrating the academic achievements of local students at the ACE Banquet. Rounding out a busy month, we were glad to see the community celebrate during the recent Alumni Picnic and happy the gathering was such a success.

We look forward to the summer and more community events!

How do you learn a facility inside and out? You help build it from the ground up.

Instrumentation and electrical technician Patrick Rome joined Koch Methanol St. James during its construction. That hands-on experience during the commissioning phase set the foundation for his vital role in maintaining the facility’s automated systems today.

“I have to say the commissioning of the facility has been my favorite project,” Patrick shared. “It was very interesting, and it helped me learn every aspect of the site. I got to put my hands on almost every piece of equipment and then take that knowledge into the future.”

You may see activity near the facility along HWY 18 in front of the admin building during the day on May 2. This is not a Koch event. It is a private event for the St. James High Alumni Picnic.

Koch Methanol values being a good community partner and wishes the group a safe and successful event on the front lawn, an area traditionally used for St. James High tailgating. The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is aware of the event, and deputies will be on site.

This event is organized by Chase James (225) 323-0624 and is not open to the public. For questions about tickets, parking, or event details, please contact the event coordinator directly, as Koch is not involved in planning or running the event.
