Why walk an entire 117-acre field when a drone can help identify where your attention is needed most?

Derek Nord of John Deere used a tassel count flight to assess variability across this trial field near Rippey, Iowa. The resulting insights provided a clearer view of how moisture, nutrients, field history, topography, and compaction were affecting the crop, making it easier to focus scouting on the areas most affected.

After deploying approximately 20 systems across the United States and Canada during the 2026 growing season, Sentera plans to make approximately 30 units available for 2027.

Storm damage isn't always uniform across a field, and understanding where the crop has been impacted can help guide the next management decision.

Using FieldAgent™, growers and agronomists can quantify mid-season crop damage with highly accurate tassel count analytics. In this example, wind damage significantly reduced the standing corn population in one portion of the field, while other areas remained largely unaffected.

These insights can support fungicide decisions, improve yield predictions, assist with insurance documentation, and help inform harvest planning.
