Our first-ever Ride into Summer Bike-to-Work Challenge is complete and yesterday we drew our raffle winners. Congratulations to Amy and Nina for taking home the prizes and thank you to everyone who participated and helped fill our jar! Despite some extreme temperature swings and a few construction-related route hiccups, it was a fun way to kick off summer and grow our pool of regular bike commuters. Congratulations to Katie Toghramadjian, our Founder, President, and CEO for being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from ACEC Minnesota. This is the highest individual honor that ACEC Minnesota bestows, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving!

Katie has devoted her engineering career to fostering innovation that goes well beyond transportation design. She founded Isthmus with the intuition that there was a better way to do business and has more than proven that to be true. Katie leads Isthmus with deep and genuine care, instilling a culture of connectedness, empowerment, and quality. Beyond Isthmus, through both formal leadership roles and conversations over coffee (or in Katie’s case, tea), she is a dedicated mentor, partner, and champion for women in engineering and other small businesses.

A lifetime achievement award may imply that one’s contributions are complete but in Katie’s case, we think it’s safe to say that there is much more to come. From all of us on , congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Katie!

Last week, packed food bags at Every Meal in Roseville. Each week during the school year, Every Meal helps fill the food gap for 13,000 children across Minnesota by providing food bags and discreetly sending them home in school backpacks. From one school in 2010 to more than 400 today, Every Meal is making a meaningful and growing local impact toward fighting child hunger.
