🚨ST. LOUIS BRACES FOR SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK THURSDAY

St. Louis and the surrounding region are under the gun for what forecasters are calling a potentially significant severe weather event on Thursday. Updated data continues to strengthen confidence that conditions will be favorable for widespread strong storms — including the risk for damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes.

Meteorologists indicate the setup has all the ingredients for an active day: unstable air, strong wind shear, and a powerful system moving through the Midwest. Some guidance suggests hail could reach significant size, with isolated tornadoes not out of the question if storms become organized.

The severe threat is expected to persist through much of the day Thursday, meaning this may not be a quick-hit system. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, monitor alerts, and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
