POV: You told everyone you’d cook more once you moved in. Turns out you meant it.
It starts at the range, because that’s where you end up standing. Then the island, because that’s where everyone else ends up standing. Then the little room off the kitchen where the drinks live, which somehow becomes the most popular square footage in the house by about nine o’clock.
This is the part of a home we think about the hardest. Not because a kitchen has to be impressive, but because it has to hold a regular Tuesday and a full holiday table equally well, and those are two very different jobs.

Every piece in this custom kitchen answers the one next to it.

The arch over the range repeats in the hood. Honed soapstone runs the perimeter and comes back as the slab behind the cooktop.

The island goes dark on purpose. In a room this light, over white oak this pale, one thing has to hold the floor.
