Imagine finishing work at 5:00…

…and by 5:20 you're walking through the woods.

No hotel.
No road trip.
No vacation days.
Just a trail close to home.

That's one reason we're such big believers in community trail systems.

Outdoor recreation doesn't always need to be a destination you visit twice a year.

Sometimes its greatest value is being somewhere people can use on an ordinary Tuesday.

How far do you currently have to travel to reach a good natural-surface trail?

Trail question of the day:

You get three hours completely free this weekend.

Are you:
🥾 Hiking
🚲 Riding
🐕 Walking the dog
🌲 Exploring somewhere you've never been

No meetings.
No chores.
No excuses.

What are you picking?

One of the biggest forces shaping a trail is water.

And if you don’t plan for where that water wants to go, eventually it’s going to start reshaping the trail for you.

Good natural-surface trail design looks at things like terrain, grade, drainage, grade reversals and outslope long before erosion becomes the problem everyone notices.

Sometimes the best trail feature is one most users never even realize is there.
The water crossed the trail…and kept going.

Next time you're on a trail after a rain, look around.

Can you tell where the water goes?

Hello, September. 🍂

A new month means new places to explore, new trails to ride, new miles to walk…and maybe a few adventures that aren't even on the calendar yet.

This month, we're challenging you to spend a little more time outside.

🥾 Take the walk.
🚲 Ride the trail.
🌲 Explore somewhere new.
👋 Invite somebody along.

And here's our question:

What's one outdoor adventure you'd like to have before September is over?

Tell us below. We might get a few ideas
for our own list.

August, you were a good one. 🌿🥾🚵

Before we turn the calendar, we want to see where YOU adventured this month!

Hiking. Biking. Walking. Running. Climbing. Exploring. Maybe just finding a quiet place outside to enjoy the view.

📸 Drop your favorite August adventure photo in the comments and tell us where you were!

Let’s finish the month with a comment section full of outdoor adventures. 👇

Sometimes the best trail feature is the one you barely notice.

A well-built trail doesn’t have to be packed with big features to be memorable.

Subtle changes in terrain can make a trail feel more interesting without making it intimidating:

🌿 A gentle rise that changes your view ↪️ A turn that follows the natural contour
🪨 A rock feature that adds texture
🌳 A brief opening in the trees
⬇️ A small dip or transition that changes the rhythm

These little moments help create flow, variety, and a stronger connection to the landscape.

For walkers, hikers, runners, and riders, that can be the difference between simply moving through the woods and really experiencing the trail.

What small trail feature do you enjoy more than people probably realize?

Good Trails Don’t Just Take You Somewhere — They Bring You Back. 🌲

Back to the woods.
Back to adventure.
Back to time with family and friends. Back to the places that help you unplug for a while.

That’s why access to quality trails close to home matters.

When communities invest in outdoor spaces, they’re creating more than a place to hike or ride — they’re creating places people want to return to again and again.

We want to hear about YOUR favorite trail.

Not necessarily the longest.
Not necessarily the hardest.
Not necessarily the most famous.

Just the one that makes you think:
“Yep. I’d go back there tomorrow.”

Maybe it has incredible views.
Maybe the trail just flows.
Maybe it’s where you learned to ride.
Maybe you hike it with your kids.
Maybe it’s five minutes from home and feels like your own little escape.

You get one trail for the rest of the day.

Which one are you choosing? 👇

🥾 A: A quiet wooded hiking trail with a view at the end
🚵 B: A flowing mountain bike trail with just enough challenge
🏃 C: A smooth, rolling trail perfect for a morning run
🐾 D: An easy trail where the whole family — including the dog — can explore

No wrong answers... although we’re pretty sure some of you are going to defend yours pretty strongly. 😂

Tell us A, B, C, or D in the comments.

Bonus points if you tag the person you’d take with you!
