As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time to give your plumbing a little TLC. Here are a few tips to keep everything flowing smoothly:

We're still working on resolving a hot water issue for a customer whose supply only lasts about 10 minutes. So far, we've taken several steps to save the customer money while troubleshooting the problem:

βœ”οΈ Turned up the thermostat
βœ”οΈ Drained and replaced the dip tube
βœ”οΈ Tested the heating elements and thermostats with a multimeter

Plumbers might not celebrate with pie, and we may not be mathematicians, but we do use Ο€ to keep your pipes flowing smoothly! From calculating pipe sizes to ensuring proper water flow, pi is a key part of our job.

* Pipe Diameter & Circumference - Pi helps plumbers calculate the circumference of a pipe (C = Ο€ x diameter), which is useful for sizing fittings and cutting materials.

* Flow calculations - Pi is used in formulas to determine water flow rates and pipe capacity, like calculating the cross-sectional area of a pipe (A = Ο€ x rΒ²)

* Pressure & Volume - When working with pressurized systems, plumbers use Ο€ in formulas for volume and pressure calculations in cylindrical tanks and pipes.

As a follow up to the re-pipe we completed a couple of weeks ago, the customer mentioned that the hot and cold were reversed in their hall bath tub/shower combo. After a quick investigation, we found that the cartridge had been installed upside down, an easy fix!

While we were there, the customer also requested a new hose bib on the same side of the house, which we installed to make outdoor water access more convenient.
