🎉 Our first field trips of the school year are officially complete! Thanks to Millbridge Elementary School 3rd graders for making them ones to remember! 💫

🗻These young explorers dove into the world of landforms, discovering how Earth’s surface is shaped and changed. They also explored the incredible relationship between the Earth, Moon, and Sun and how these three celestial bodies work together. 🌎🌙☀️

🐢🌦️And, of course, learning is never just about listening and observing! Our students had plenty of time for creative play and hands-on exploration in our Collab Lab stations. 🧱

From landforms to lunar science to creative collaboration, our 3rd graders kicked off the year with curiosity, discovery, and a whole lot of fun!

Here’s to many more adventures and learning experiences ahead! 🚍✨

Rowan-Salisbury Schools

We had an amazing week in Cartersville, GA at this year’s SEPA Planetarium Conference!

We learned about transitions at MiniLIPS with Roper Mountain Science Center, lasting community connections with Exploration Dome, and about the amazing transformation at Horizons Unlimited amoung many other amazing sessions.

We also want to congratulate TX, NM, OK, and AR on joining the SEPA region.

🦎🐢While it may seem like Horizons Unlimited is all fun & games, a lot of work goes on during summer and behind the scenes.

Pictured here is Taz, our bearded dragon, getting in a good soak. Not his favorite thing to do!

Regular animal care is just one of the many tasks that must be done, in addition to refreshing & creating new hands-on kits, planning & building new experiences, preparing professional development for classroom teachers, rainforest upkeep, & much more. 🌿🌤

⚽️🌿 Horizons G.O.A.T. campers also enjoyed learning about team sports, nature friendly art, and exploring new foods. 🎨🥭

🥅 While participating in team sports, campers learned about cooperation and good sportsmanship. They allowed nature to inspire their art, and discovered new and interesting flavors while blending geography and food science. 🐸🧀
