Fourth grade students from Hurley Elementary School stepped back in time as they visited Neely School, the first one-room schoolhouse for Black children in our county! 🏫✨

As part of their Social Studies unit on Hidden Heroes, students explored the rich history of this local landmark and learned about the incredible educators, leaders, and community members who fought for equal access to education right here in our community. Seeing history up close brought their lesson to life and gave everyone a deeper appreciation for the unsung heroes who paved the way. ❤️📚
