Campus Needs
Modernize the Engineering & Technology Building with new new MEP, fire suppression, controls, and communication systems while maintaining uninterrupted student and faculty use of the occupied north half.
The Ex*****on
We developed a phased approach around active campus operations and existing building systems. Temporary utilities and targeted MEP modifications kept the occupied north wing functional while the south wing was taken largely back to its core and shell. Construction was sequenced alongside abatement activities, allowing demolition, framing, concrete, MEP rough-in, and finishes to continue progressing.
When Weber State needed several labs available for classes, our project team worked with the University to establish temporary measures and achieve phased occupancy of half of the second floor while work continued in adjacent areas. Installation of major equipment required expanding existing building openings and completing structural modifications before the envelope could be reconstructed and sealed.
Ready for the Semester
Through close coordination with Weber State, DFCM, the design team, and trade partners, our team maintained uninterrupted campus operations while completing a major building systems replacement. The renovated space was delivered one month ahead of schedule and ready for the start of the spring semester.
