Jacobsen Construction 103 years. 850 employee-owners. Scores of amazing projects. Every great company has a great story.

One goal: Building enduring communities!
goo.gl/FQt2dh Ours began with Danish teenager Soren Jacobsen, an aspiring builder who landed on Ellis Island in 1900 with $24 in his pocket and an American Dream: To change its skyline. After 100 years in business, our company continues to achieve Soren's goal by creating structures that thrill our

clients and that serve our communities well. It's a process that challenges and inspires every day, and it's why we love to go to work.

🔥📰This just in ... The Salt Lake Temple renovation is the subject of a new in-depth feature story from Engineering News-Record!

This article goes deeper than ever before into the story of how this large-scale project came to life, the engineering complexity and long-term planning required to protect the temple from seismic activity, and the world-class artisanship being used to restore and enhance the interiors.

One article highlight is a recollection from Jacobsen's Brad Bohne, general superintendent, about how the March 2020 earthquake altered the trajectory of the project.

"(It) drove home how we are protecting this building; it wasn’t theoretical anymore,” Bohne told the magazine. "It showed us some places where we needed to rethink our plans."

ICYMI: Jacobsen broke ground this month on a 25,000-square-foot expansion of the Intermountain Health Spanish Fork Hospital!

The project will add much-needed space for the hospital’s emergency department, imaging services and surgical areas — helping Intermountain Health better serve the rapidly growing population of southern Utah County.

“Every day, hundreds of people get care in this building," said Jason Wilson, Intermountain Health executive and a board member at this hospital. “I’m so proud of the work that’s going on at this hospital and excited about this expansion.”

Pediatric care in Nevada is taking a huge step forward! About 200 doctors and 2,000 total staff are already being recruited to join the care team at Intermountain Health's Nevada Children's Hospital. This estimate is from Russ Williams, the hospital's president, in his recent interview with Fox5 in Las Vegas (link in comments).

Jacobsen's joint venture with The PENTA Building Group will complete this facility in 2030. We feel energized by the opportunity to create this valuable healthcare resource for young Nevada patients and their families, in partnership with the brilliant architects at Shepley Bulfinch and Gensler.

We're celebrating ! Jacobsen was proud to sponsor Under One Sky, an inspiring evening hosted by the Salt Lake Chamber recently in celebration of 250 years since America's founding. 🗽

The chamber honored several individuals and organizations in Utah who strengthen communities throughout the Beehive State. Our friends at Intermountain Health were among those recognized, being named Steward of the Sky for the exemplary care they have provided to several generations of Utahns. ⚕️

Jasobsen was also honored to be one of several organizations presented with a Methuselah Star for achieving more than a century of doing business in Utah. ⭐

Jacobsen is Utah's 2026 Best of State General Contractor!

We were presented with the award this week at a gala celebrating excellence across the state. We were honored to receive this highly competitive distinction, which we see as a credit to the talent and achievements of all 880-plus Jacobsen employee-owners; clients who are shaping our communities with a bold vision for the future; and countless trade, engineering and design partners who are dedicated to their craft.

In Nephi, construction is underway on a vehicle maintenance shop that will help the Utah National Guard honor their "Always Ready, Always There!" motto.

We held a groundbreaking celebration on Tuesday for this unique facility, where devoted citizen soldiers with expertise in engineering and fleet maintenance will use state-of-the-art mechanic stations to keep essential military vehicles at peak performance. Whether it's in response to a wildfire, flood, earthquake or any other serious crisis, the 1457th Engineer Battalion based here will be well-positioned to reach rural Utahns and repair critical infrastructure in times of emergency.

Cheers rang out at Huntsman Cancer Institute this month as 14-year-old Noah Reeb officially broke ground on a project that expands access to the same proton therapy that saved his own life.

Deftly operating an excavator with the help of the construction team, Noah ushered in the expansion of the Senator Orrin G. Hatch Proton Therapy Center, which will soon have a second treatment vault to serve twice as many patients.

Noah was the first patient to receive proton therapy at this facility after it was completed by Jacobsen in 2021. Its expansion is now underway!
