Celebrating Arturo Ballesteros for 5 Years of Service!

Originally from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Arturo has a long history with CSA — this is actually his second time with the company. He first found CSA through a newspaper ad while searching for work, starting as a ground hand and working his way up to foreman, where he now runs one of our hot mix plants.

Throughout his tenure, Arturo has contributed to many projects, but one that stands out most to him is the Knickerbocker Road job in San Angelo. He oversaw all the mix that came out of the plant. “It was the first job that made me feel like I was progressing. It validated my knowledge and gave me confidence,” Arturo shares.

Arturo says he enjoys working for CSA because “I’m able to provide for my family, I have good mentors, and I have stability. With this company, I’ve learned more than just my job — I’ve grown personally. I came here speaking only Spanish, and working for CSA has helped me learn and improve my English.”

Looking ahead, Arturo’s goal is to continue working and growing with CSA Materials. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family. His advice for anyone entering the industry is simple: “There are good opportunities in this industry, just have patience.”

Recognizing Alejandro Hernandez for 5 years of service!

Born in Ojinaga, Alejandro grew up in Presidio, Texas. Ever since he was a child, he has enjoyed working outdoors and being around heavy equipment. He said, “Growing up, I saw the pipeline coming through the area and I always said I’d like to operate and work on the equipment used.” Alejandro pursued welding and found work in the oil field. Although he enjoyed it, he was looking for something local, and a subcontractor informed him that CSA was hiring.

During his time at CSA, Alejandro reflects on what he and the crew have produced for various projects and what has kept him there. One project that stands out to him was producing the material for the airport in Fort Stockton. “I take a lot of pride knowing our material was used to build that air strip. It was a productive year,” he says. What he likes most about the company is they take care of the employees, saying “They understand that family comes first.”

For most of his tenure, Alejandro has served as a plant operator. He enjoys the flexibility of the job. He’s able to run equipment, perform maintenance, weld, and more. He also values the stability, and the career potential offered by the job, emphasizing the need for dedication and hard work in mastering the trade.

During his free time, Alejandro enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, whether it is at the park, church, or quality time in their home. He also enjoys going to the shooting range and visiting family in Mexico. His goals are to continue to learn, grow, and improve eventually becoming a foreman.

Recognizing Juan Garcia for 15 years of dedicated service!

Originally from Coahuila Mexico, Juan has made his home in West Texas. Before joining CSA Materials, Juan spent near 20 years on a dairy farm. Seeking a better work life balance, he came to work for our company and has never looked back. Reflecting on his journey, Juan shares “I like my job very much. The people, the environment, the pay, it’s all great!”

Juan has had the opportunity to work in different positions, starting as a ground hand, moving into a crusher operator, and now operating a pit truck. For him, it doesn't matter what he’s doing as long as he’s working.

Juan plans to retire with CSA. Juan says, “I’m grateful for the work I’ve had. If I had to, I’d do it all over again. I’d recommend this company to anyone!” For those considering joining our team, Juan advises, “You must be dedicated and consistent. You have to put in the work and be part of the team.”

Foreman John Bankston, says, “Juan is as loyal as they come. He’s a dedicated employee who shows up to work on time daily, works hard, is knowledgeable in the operations of the quarry, and sets an example for others to follow. It’s a pleasure to have him on our team.”

Outside of work, Juan enjoys spending time with his family, attending church, dinners, or just relaxing. Here’s to you, Juan! Thank you for your hard work and dedication over the past 15 years!
