Lead Carpenter – JAJ Property Services is a growing, family owned and operated construction company that specializes in remodeling and renovation servicing San Angelo and the surrounding areas. We are looking for dependable craftsmen with solid work history and good work ethic. Will report directly to the owner of the company

Objective: Effectively supervise and work with a team, and subcontractors, to ensure the successful and timely completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for and/or lead and assign work to a crew of carpenters required for the maintenance, repair, and remodel of buildings and structures, in both the commercial and residential arenas
- Lead carpentry work including rough and finish carpentry
- Assist in the supervision of assigned personnel, as directed
- Assist in the coordination of carpentry with that of other trades
- Assist in preparation of estimates and/or reports
- Be able to perform all duties of a carpenter or finish carpenter, following recognized procedures/techniques for such work
- Clean-up job sites
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Occasional travel required

Minimum qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred
- Ten (10) years of experience as a carpenter
- Knowledge of and ability to operate carpenter shop tools and equipment
- Ability to lay out construction and remodeling work
- Ability to read architect drawings
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Well organized, able to schedule subcontractors in an orderly manner and keep the job going according to schedule
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary
- Must have own hand tools
- Supervisory ability
- Good communication skills
- Problem solver, trainable, honest
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and reliable transportation
Additional desirable qualifications:
- Bi-lingual
- Working knowledge of one or more other trades
