The first real cold front always finds the heater nobody checked. ❄️
A few things to do now, while it's still mild out:
• Run the heat for a few minutes. A faint dusty smell the first time is common. A smell that doesn't fade is a reason to turn it off and have it looked at. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call your gas company or 911 from outside.
• Put in a fresh air filter, and make sure vents and returns aren't blocked by furniture or rugs.
• Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends CO alarms on every level of the home and outside sleeping areas, and a professional inspection of your heating system every year.
Want someone to look at it before you need it every night? We can schedule a heating tune-up, or set up a free consult if you're thinking about replacing an older system.
