Our Colorado teams recently came together for the 2026 CO RICNIC!

Trivia tested everyone’s knowledge of RICK and Colorado, while the spaghetti tower challenge put some engineering skills to work (in a slightly different way than we're used to). The winning tower reached an impressive 4 feet, 4 inches tall!

The afternoon wrapped up with some group games like co****le and volleyball. Bringing both offices together made the day especially fun and gave colleagues a chance to catch up and enjoy time with friends and family.

Thank you to everyone who helped put the RICNIC together and made the day such a success!

RICK’s Ash Paranthaman, PE, QSD, QSP took the stage at APWA PWX 2026 in Houston this week!

Ash presented the Maple Canyon Restoration & Flood Mitigation Project to public works professionals from across the country, sharing how the team approached long-standing erosion and flooding challenges within an urban watershed through nature-based design.

Ash’s presentation gave attendees a closer look at the work behind Maple Canyon and how the canyon’s natural systems became part of the solution. The session brought a San Diego project to an audience of public works professionals facing many of the same challenges in communities across the country.

This year’s PWX is one of the largest gatherings of public works professionals in North America. Thank you to everyone who joined Ash’s session in Houston!

RICK is hosting the San Diego Architectural Foundation’s PechaKucha Night Vol. 57: Almost Famous at our San Diego office on September 16th!

Held during San Diego Design Week, the evening will bring the local design community together for a series of fast-paced presentations featuring under-the-radar projects and rising creatives.

RICK’s Ash Paranthaman, PE, QSD, QSP is presenting at APWA PWX 2026 in Houston this upcoming week!

This year’s conference brings public works professionals together from across the country at the George R. Brown Convention Center from August 30th through September 2nd. On Tuesday, September 1st, Ash will present the Maple Canyon Restoration & Flood Mitigation Project and the nature-based approach used to address erosion and flooding within an urban watershed.

Congratulations to RICK’s Mark Jugar and SANDAG’s Raul Armenta on taking first place at the ITE San Diego Annual Co****le Tournament!

Our Traffic team joined transportation professionals from across the San Diego region at Spanish Landing Park East for an afternoon of friendly competition.

Mark and Raul are both past presidents of the ITE San Diego Section and teamed up for this year’s tournament, with honorable mentions to RICK’s Jorge Cuyuch and Enrique Ruiz, who also joined in on the competition.

Thank you to ITE San Diego for bringing the local transportation community together for another great summer event!

Meet the team behind RICK’s Santa Clarita office!

RICK opened its Santa Clarita office in 2023, bringing together a local team that works with public agencies and private clients throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and Kern counties.

Our Santa Clarita team provides civil engineering services for public infrastructure and private development, including roadway improvements, site development, grading and drainage, utilities, and permitting. Their experience covers projects of all sizes, with the team providing engineering support from early planning through design and construction.

RICK team members recently spent the day at the beautiful Coronado Golf Course for the 36th Annual APWA Open!

The tournament brought public works professionals together for a day on the course and raised funds for the APWA Scholarship Foundation and future public works professionals.
It was a chance to catch up with colleagues and friends in the local public works community while supporting an important cause. Thank you to the APWA San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter for another great tournament!
