Driver appreciation week is two weeks out.

It exists for a reason, and the reason isn't sentiment. A driver logs in at 4:40am, walks a pre-trip in the dark, finds a marker light out, and waits on the shop to clear it before the first mile of the day.

That happens every day, to most of them, and almost none of it is visible from an office.

That's the part we wanted to describe before appreciation week starts. Not the job in the abstract, the one that actually gets done. That's this month.

In trucking, you can put your hand on almost everything that matters. The tractor. The trailer. The tires.

Connected vehicle technology sits underneath everything, and none of that work shows up as hardware you can walk around. That's a real problem when the people making the call have spent thirty years assessing equipment by touching it.

So we stopped describing it. The Connected Vehicle Lab is 53 feet of the platform running live, where teams get their hands on the workflows instead of hearing about them.
