Residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical companies are being purchased by billion dollar corporations and they don't change the name. Look for the "Locally Certified" badge when selecting which company you want to work with. Carini Home Services is still owned and operated by Gabriel Carini, a local La Mesa resident. Carini Home Services is proud to announce that we have been certified as a local business. Most companies have been purchased by Private Equity and you wouldn't know it because they don't change the name. The may even have the previous owners in their advertisements. There are a handful of major players and these are Billion dollar corporations. Don't be fooled by these deceptive business practices. Make sure you are doing business with a certified "Locally Owned and Operated" business. I would encourage any local companies to also get certified. We can all work together to make sure these corporate monsters don't completely ruin our industry. More to come!

Hey San Diego! Did you know.....
Private equity (PE) has turned its attention to the Residential HVAC and Plumbing markets. Believe it or not, but most companies in San Diego have sold to PE. Its difficult to see the effect because most consumers aren't even aware that they are doing business with a different entity. These are Billion dollar corporations with business all over the nation. The misleading thing about it all, is the companies don't change their name. In most cases the original owners will still be in the marketing material. The biggest impact it has is to the end user. The focus on revenue and the bottom line become the priority, not the service provided to the customer. In fact, the model completley changes. The focus on Sales and replacement become paramount. Technicians are no longer being training to fix anything. The companies that acquired these businesses don't own them for more that 2 to 5 years. Companies are being bundlled up like loans and sold off. The days of the Mom-and-Pop shop are going away. We need to support those companies still dedicated to the customers and not a board of directors. My urge is to educate yourself. Make sure the companies you are using are still locally owned. Carini Home Services is one of the last companies in Southern California that is still owned by the founder who lives in San Diego. Keep it local and support your local economy.
