Politicians, scientists, and farmers in Africa and around the world are getting behind the promise of new genomic techniques to transform for a more productive, resilient, and sustainable future. In the coming weeks, Europe faces a critical opportunity to join the global movement to build a whole new value chain behind this technology, writes Anjana Ahuja in an opinion piece for the Financial Times: https://on.ft.com/3OrSGfD

We are pleased to see continued progress in the EU on their ambitious goals for the regulation of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs). These techniques, which Cibus has helped pioneer, have the ability to enhance agriculture by making crops more resilient and sustainable. Under the European Commission’s proposal, NGT products would be regulated similarly to their conventional counterparts, providing unprecedented opportunities for European agriculture and food production.

Water is a precious, finite resource. On this , we are reminded that water is life, water is food, and that what we eat and how that food is produced all affect water.

Cibus’ productivity traits are expected to reduce the application of agricultural chemicals, including fertilizer, on major row crops globally, protecting water quality from agricultural runoff: https://www.cibus.com/productivity-traits.php

Together, we can take water action for food and be the change.
