Inside a h**p-built research facility at University of Plymouth. 🌱

Formed with 400mm **p/cob composite walls, a full lime wash envelope and a h**p fibre composite sheet ceiling, the building is fitted with IoT sensors tracking real-time data on air quality, use, thermal performance, moisture, airtightness, acoustics and lifecycle impact. ♻️

The aim: to generate robust evidence on durability, performance, and environmental comfort. 📈

🌱 Advancing sustainable solutions for real-world conditions 🌍

In what might be a first of its kind initiative, we’re proud to share pioneering research testing h**p building materials under extreme weather conditions in a changing climate.

Led by Piumal Amarakoon and Dr. Jonathan Whale, in collaboration with Murdoch University, ATCO, Arnowa and ClearVue Technologies Limited, the project was introduced at the WREC 2026 and is gaining momentum.

🌱 Big shift for sustainable construction 🏡

Carbon stored in buildings is set to count in Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in the EU, meaning bio-based materials like H**P could finally get recognition for the CO₂ they lock away (35+ years).
