✨ Shao-Jen Weng, PhD｜東海大學創新學院院長
Healthcare Systems Consortium 創辦人。Arizona State University 博士，超過 20 年醫療系統工程與智慧醫療研究資歷，連結工程與臨床現場，推動台灣全國性的智慧醫療生態系。

✨ C. Joseph Chang, MHA｜Former President & CEO, East Valley Hospital Medical Center

“From Health Data to Action: AI Across Devices, Insights, and Personalized Care” brings together leaders working at the intersection of neurotechnology, digital health, AI-driven drug discovery, and computational biology.

Featured speakers include:

❇️ Yao-Chuan Chang, Principal System Engineer at Synchron
Leading the architecture, integration, and verification of next-generation Brain-Computer Interface medical devices. With over 15 years of experience in biomedical engineering, neurostimulation, and neuroscience, he has worked across the central, peripheral, and retinal nervous systems. Before Synchron, he served as a Senior Biomedical/Neural Engineer at Medtronic and as a Staff Scientist at The Feinstein Institutes.

❇️ Sheng-Hsiou (Shawn) Hsu, CTO at Kura Care Inc.
Leading the development of a generative AI and machine learning platform for personalized digital health. He began his career at Google X, was a founding member of neurotechnology startup NextSense, and later served as Director of Data Science at Arctop, advancing brain-computer interfaces and human-AI interaction. Outside of his core work, he mentors others through career coaching and remains passionate about how humans and AI can collaborate more effectively.

❇️ Chien-Cheng (Mike) Shih, Data Scientist at Novartis
Applying AI and computer vision to drug discovery across data modalities from cellular to medical imaging. He works closely with biologists and chemists to translate experimental questions into machine learning workflows, with a focus on phenotypic screening and image-based assays. Previously, he was a research scientist in image informatics at Washington University's Center for Cellular Imaging.

❇️ Yi Hsiang Hsu, VP at ProFound Therapeutics
Applying AI, statistical methods, and bioinformatics to drug target and biomarker discovery, as well as clinical trial design and patient stratification across multiple disease areas, including oncology, autoimmune, inflammatory, and cardiometabolic disorders. Previously, he held academic and program leadership roles at Harvard Medical School, the Marcus Institute for Aging Research, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, with over 15 years of experience spanning translational genomics and computational biology.

Together, they’ll explore how AI is reshaping biomedical decision-making — from devices and imaging to genomics, clinical insights, and personalized care.

退休生技二姐在美國 要來南加了 🎉

二姐 (洪筱玲博士) 的轉職經歷相信各位都不陌生，從學術工作一路變成法規專家，一路走進全球製藥產業，最後成為深耕新藥開發與法規策略的專家。

她擁有近三十年的生技製藥研發與法規經驗，曾任 Ambrx Biopharma 法規事務與品質保證（Quality Assurance) 資深副總裁，也曾在 Bristol Myers Squibb 與 Johnson & Johnson 擔任重要法規領導職位，參與多項藥物開發計畫的全球法規策略。

現在的二姐是製藥法規顧問，協助美國與台灣的生技製藥公司規劃產品開發、法規路徑與授權合作機會。從 scientist 到 regulatory strategist 的轉型，也讓她特別理解生技人在不同職涯階段會遇到的選擇與挑戰。

除了專業領域的成就，二姐也長期投入台美生技社群與人才培育，目前擔任 Taiwanese American Biotech Association（TABA）會長，持續陪伴與支持下一代生技人才。

這次很高興邀請到二姐來到年會，她將在SoCal TBA 年會上和大家分享她在生技製藥、法規策略與職涯轉型上的第一手經驗。

Many of you may already know Dr. Hsiao-Ling Hung’s inspiring career journey — from academic research to regulatory affairs, and eventually into the global pharmaceutical industry as an expert in drug development and regulatory strategy.

Dr. Hsiao-Ling Hung has nearly three decades of experience in biotech and pharmaceutical R&D. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at Ambrx Biopharma, and held key regulatory leadership roles at Bristol Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson, where she contributed to global regulatory strategies for multiple drug development programs.

Today, Dr. Hung is a pharmaceutical regulatory consultant, advising biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. and Taiwan on product development, regulatory pathways, and licensing opportunities. Her transition from scientist to regulatory strategist gives her a unique perspective on the choices and challenges biotech professionals face at different stages of their careers.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Hung has long been dedicated to supporting the Taiwanese American biotech community and mentoring the next generation of biotech professionals. She currently serves as President of the Taiwanese American Biotech Association (TABA).

We are excited to welcome Dr. Hung to Southern California! On June 21, she will join us at the SoCal TBA Annual Symposium to share her first-hand insights on biotech/pharma, regulatory strategy, and career transition.
