Scalability and production efficiency were key in developing the bassinet’s design. In bringing the product to a manufacturing-ready state, we focus on optimizing structural integrity, ease of assembly, while utilizing and ensuring cost-effective manufacturing processes. Our granular attention to detail in developing Colors, Materials, and Finishes (CMF) helped enhance marketability, while photorealistic renderings and appearance models ensured a polished final design.

106 million people collect drinking water directly from untreated rivers, lakes, and ponds.

Even when water is available on the premises, it may not be free from contamination.

With our latest project, KLEAN, we took a deep dive into portable water filtration to understand not just the technology—but the experience.

Hollow fiber membrane (HFM) technology has existed for decades and offers a practical alternative to more expensive or complex filtration systems.

But our research uncovered significant friction:
→ Filtration straws require continuous suction to draw water through the filter.

→ Collecting, filtering, and storing clean water can be impractical and labor-intensive.

→ The experience is slow, fatiguing, and uncomfortable.

→ HFM straws can leave water with an unpleasant plastic taste and smell.

At Unbox, we didn't want to simply “improve the specs.”

We wanted to rethink the entire experience.

By shifting the focus from the technology to the user, we developed a system capable of filtering contaminants down to 0.01 microns while making the process more intuitive and enjoyable.

We even integrated fruit infusion.

Because clean water should also be water you want to drink.

KLEAN is an example of how design-led innovation can transform existing technology into a better experience.

We're excited to introduce KLEAN - an evolution in personal water filtration.

At Unbox, we believe innovation isn't always about inventing new technology.
More often, it's about rethinking the user experience.

KLEAN is a perfect example. While hollow fiber filtration has existed for years, most portable systems require continuous suction to draw water through the filter, an experience that can be slow, fatiguing, and uncomfortable.

Instead of asking the user to do the work, KLEAN puts the bottle to work.
By addressing the friction in the experience, not simply improving the specifications or form, we created a solution that's more intuitive, more enjoyable, and ultimately more useful.

It's a reminder that the best innovations don't always start with new technology. Sometimes they come from seeing an existing technology through a different lens.

We're excited to share more of the design and development journey as KLEAN continues to evolve.
