Earlier this year, Vintage Contractors completed the pickleball courts at Bay Padel on Treasure Island, and these photos really show what makes the facility so special.
The courts sit inside an incredible high-ceilinged historic space with exposed steel trusses, huge windows, and a scale you rarely see in an indoor sports facility. The building has a great San Francisco history, too: it was originally built for the 1939–40 Golden Gate International Exposition as the Hall of Transportation and was intended to later serve as an airplane hangar for San Francisco’s planned airport.
Today, the space has been reimagined as Bay Padel: a lively indoor padel and pickleball club on Treasure Island.
We’re proud to have played a part in creating the pickleball courts inside such a memorable Bay Area facility. 📸
