At St. Vincent de Paul School in San Francisco, recess looks different this year.
We're proud to share the completion of a campus transformation at this cherished K–8 school, a project built entirely around one idea: creating spaces where students can learn, play, grow, and build community for generations to come.
At the heart of it is a new elevated sport court, an innovative outdoor space where students can now experience recess, PE, athletics, and school events in a way they could not before. Alongside it: voluntary seismic upgrades across multiple buildings, new roofing systems, a modernized parking area, renovated gymnasium restrooms, and a contemporary aluminum fin façade that gives the campus a refreshed identity.
The real challenge was not any single element. It was doing all of it on an active K–8 campus, coordinating complex structural and infrastructure work while keeping school running safely, day in and day out.
As Principal Marguerite Pini put it, the project is “about far more than buildings. It is about creating opportunities for our students to learn, play, grow, and build community.” That is exactly why we do this work.
Our thanks to St. Vincent de Paul School, the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and every trade partner whose craftsmanship made it possible. Knowing these improvements will serve children, families, and educators for decades makes this one especially meaningful for our team.
