How clean is your concentrate?

As we celebrate 710 Day, it’s worth asking an important question: Are California’s minimum testing requirements sufficient to ensure consumer safety?

Cannabis extracts can concentrate both desirable compounds and unwanted contaminants. Despite regulation by the California DCC, the LA Times found that extracts routinely contained high or failing concentrations of pesticides. There are a few reasons for this:

• There is a strong financial incentive to use pesticides to improve cannabis yields

• The DCC currently regulates 66 pesticides but lacks the ability to monitor for or regulate other pesticide usage

• Some laboratories routinely fail to detect pesticides at the limits required by the DCC, either intentionally or because they lack the capability

That’s why organizations like ECCO are helping raise the bar through expanded pesticide screening and ongoing product verification. Anresco is proud to support their efforts to promote safe and high quality products.
