Engineering News-Record (ENR) named SDI a Top California Construction Contractor! In addition, ENR selected one of SDI's heavy-lifting bridge operations as a regional best project (more to come on that when ENR celebrates winners in Oct.). We couldn't be more pleased, thanking all our dedicated construction teams, our office leadership and support, and ENR for publicizing their excellent accomplishments.

SDI made ENR's 2020 national list of the Top 600 Specialty Contractors (see ENR.com). One of the lesser-known specialties that SDI excels in is automated trains and engineered controls, which we've been working in for over twenty years. The Kahului Airport train (Maui, HI) just reopened last week, so here are a few shots featuring Lee Larsen's transit team on site (pre-COVID-19). The first photo shows Royden Sato driving the train, the second shot is of our Controls Specialist Austin Lemke testing the system with a tech, the third shows Bryan Teanglum in the bogie motor controls. We're thankful for all our teams who work hard to provide excellent, safe, and reliable transportation infrastructure to millions of Americans daily. (And thanks also to island native Darrell Wong for the great photos.)

While it has been a challenging, hard season for so many, we are nonetheless thankful for the good news when it comes and look forward to a reopening of the construction sectors that had been set back.
