Rooted in sustainability this Earth Day!

The HMH landscape architecture team recently conducted an arborist site visit for the Villas at Mar Vistas project in Aptos, gathering key data to better understand and protect the existing landscape. From tagging trees and measuring DBH to estimating canopy spread and height, each step plays an important role in evaluating a tree’s health, structure, and overall value.

The team also assessed signs of distress and environmental factors that impact long-term growth, ensuring a comprehensive understanding before development begins. Even in areas with dense overgrowth, they worked through the site to account for all trees within scope, including those beyond property lines with overhanging canopies.

This process allows the landscape architecture team at HMH to provide informed recommendations for preservation, removal, and mitigation, helping guide responsible development decisions!

We’ve officially reached the end of March, marking the close of Women’s History Month.

HMH was proud to host our very first Women’s History Month panel, where we highlighted some of the incredible women leaders within our company who shared their experiences in the industry.

This event created space for meaningful conversations, support, and vulnerability among the women of HMH.

We’re excited for all that we will continue to build in the years ahead!

Thank you to Calandra, Tracy, Linda, and Deena for being part of such an impactful conversation!

Happy Surveyors Week!

We’re taking this week to spotlight our incredible survey team and share a closer look at one of their recent projects, the Mosquito Road Bridge.

Spanning 1,200 feet and rising 300 feet above the South Fork American River gorge near Placerville, CA, this cast-in-place balanced cantilever bridge is a true engineering feat. The project also includes the design and construction of access roads and two temporary crane trestles, with the bridge’s main piers reaching heights of 230 feet.

We’re excited to share updated progress and continue highlighting the impactful work our survey team is doing.
