After much experimentation and a decent amount of personal investment, I have found that top quality evacuated tubes work the best for SHW systems, but they can be pricey. I have also made my own Solar Heat Boxes out of SUNTUF polycarbonate sheeting, aluminum, and 3/4" copper pipes, which I believe work as well.
